Winter Weather

As you may know last month was the driest November on record! We have been waiting for winter to start for so long that now the cold weather is here, it has taken some of us by surprise. Here are some handy hints to help you cope with the cold weather.

1) Wrap up warm- dig out your hats, scarves and gloves from last year. When you are in school you can stuff hats, scarves and gloves down your coat sleeves, to keep them all in one place. Putting your name on labels is also helpful.

2) Winter coats- it sounds obvious, but check coats are still waterproof and make sure they still fit!

3) Wear lots of layers- put on your vests! Layers of clothes trap warm air in between them to keep you nice and warm.

4) Set out early- we all know on cold weather days the pavements may be icy or slippy. To avoid slips leave the house nice and early, so that you can take your time getting to school and still be on time.

5) Have a hearty breakfast- Rememer to join us at Brekfast Club, fo a warm breakfast of beans, toast or porridge. A fabulous way to start the day!!

Keep warm, keep safe and keep coming to school on time!

You should be receiving a letter informing you that we are hoping to establish an After school Club, in the new year. I will be sending out more information, including prices in the near future.

I would also like this opportunity to remind you that this blog is available to you, for your suggestions or ideas, on how we can continue to make positive improvements to Moorside School and the Fedration of Arthur's Hill Primary Schools.
